THE TRANSFERENCE RELATIONSHIP IN ANALYTIC THERAPY WITH PERVERSIONS. Working with eroticization and mannerisms to promote eros and individuation

The series of seminars we propose for 2026 arises from a desire to explore the vital dimension that animates the analytical process: what keeps it moving, makes it generative, and distinguishes it from a purely technical or interpretative exercise.

Words like eros, tenderness, and individuation evoke different forces, sometimes in tension with each other. Eros as desire, creative impulse, connection, sexuality. Tenderness as an affective disposition, embodied listening, openness to the other in their vulnerability, but also as a profound conduit for the meaning of existence. Individuation as an ongoing process of self-searching and self-discovery.

These are dynamics that, in the analysis room, can intertwine fruitfully, but also generate impasses, blocks, interruptions, especially where they have become taboo or have become confused in a disorienting or disintegrating way.

In this series we want to ask ourselves how these three dimensions work, visibly or covertly, in the analytic relationship.
