In the wake of a transformative global pandemic that has changed the world in ways we are just beginning to register, many Jungian thinkers and writers are noticing a profound sense of “liminality” in our collective consciousness. Three local Jungian analysts, Jennifer Gordon and Kristin Funk of Eugene and Carol Walnum of Portland, join Dr. Mark Unno, director of Religious Studies at the University of Oregon, to explore emergent themes and phenomena from the personal and collective psyche.
Our discussions will revolve around pressing questions such as:
“How can we emerge from isolation?”;
“What does it mean to be a global citizen in an age of COVID and climate change?”;
“What possible new values and new creations may be emerging in this new landscape?”;
And perhaps most profoundly…
“What does it mean that I am alive today, in these times?”
Initial remarks from each participant will be followed by a conversation among them as audience members consider questions for reflection provided by the panel. After a brief break we will gather to share questions, insights, and stories as we search for clues from the Spirit of the Depths to inform our sense of the Spirit of the Times. The program will be moderated by Ruthann Duncan.
