Integrating principles from somatic psychology, Jungian psychology, and creative expressive arts modalities, this in-person experiential workshop introduces participants to somatic movement and image-making practices that support access to implicit, embodied, and symbolic dimensions of experience. Through guided movement, visual expression, and reflective writing, participants will explore how bodily sensation, gesture, image, and symbol can help give form to inner experience that may not be easily verbalized. Participants will have opportunities to experience and learn practices that support self-regulation, embodied attunement, and symbolic expression. No prior art or movement/dance experience is needed. Art materials will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a journal for reflective writing.
