C.G. Jung held the tension between the self and society through the power of analogy, correspondence and mythical consciousness—to include how we each are psychological and cultural beings in a web of relationships. In these three presentations and break-out discussion groups we will explore the experience of Aging, of Beliefs that shape our identity, and the implications of our shifting National Narrative.
Questions for breakout sessions:
Aging: As you age into elderhood, what are you discovering in your life that is falling away, of dissolving and what areas of importance are coming into conscious focus as you relate to the larger culture that surrounds you?
Beliefs: Given the many upheavals we have experienced individually and communally these last several years, what stable beliefs, assumptions, or prejudices have grown less certain and perhaps fallen into doubt or abandoned altogether?
Our National Narrative: As I pose this question for conversation, can you describe what edits, revisions or shifts in your own plotline resonate with or are in conflict with the current national story we are asked to accept and where in it do we experience resistance?
