Since the second half of the last century, there has been a continuous change in the psychological and social representation of the young adult. Although its particularity has been effectively focused on, there is still a certain difficulty in differentiating it from late adolescence and true adulthood.
The story of the young adult must be rewritten in the context of the epochal crisis that is affecting our world: young people overwhelmed by a sense of precariousness, by the idea of not being able to belong.
Unlike the more mature generations, the current one lacks the accompaniment of the social body, which in the past tended to facilitate the change of state. A context that is less and less initiatory, which neither concretely nor symbolically stimulates the passage, rather, it facilitates the stop.
In the face of investigations under the banner of classification medicine, it is the task of Analytical Psychology to listen to interiority, marking the difference between pathology and psychic suffering. The epochal transformation we are going through, the widespread nihilism and uncertainty, could take on the role of a dynamic pole of an energetic tension aimed at the mobilization of constructive resources?
