“The reason for evil in the world is that
people are not able to tell their stories.”
—Carl Jung

Jung’s Memories, Dreams and Reflections saved my life at the age of 18.  I was an obsessive overachiever as an 18-year-old junior in college at the honors college of Florida when I had a spiritual emergency that very easily could have landed me in a psychiatric hospital. However, through some miracle I was assigned to read and present on Memories, Dreams and Reflections in a “Psychology of Personality” elective I had taken as a Chemistry/Math pre-med major.  I thought it would be an easy A.  It ended up changing the entire course of my life.  It also began my 40-year love affair with journaling my dreams, synchronicities and feelings

Journaling comes from the French word jour,  for day, and it is also the root of the word journey. Seen in this way, journaling should be the footprints of our soul’s journey through life. I like to call it “soul tracking” – the ongoing numinous tracking of the soul.  Journaling is nothing less than a vehicle for expressing our “insides” outside – a chance to not only find the story we are living but to tell that story to the blank page. Put simply, where therapy is the talking cure, journaling is the writing cure.  Join us for a deep dive into the power and process of how expressing our own first-person experience of the world (both waking and dreaming) in journaling can help us live more conscious, rich, and whole lives.
