The different ways the Axiom of Maria Prophetissa have been stated:
One becomes Two, Two becomes Three, and out of the Third comes the One as the Fourth, or
Out of the One comes Two, out of the Two comes Three, and from the Third comes the One as the Fourth, or, for our purposes,
First there is One, then there is Two, then there is Three, then there is Four, and then there is Three and then there is Two and then there is One.
This axiom holds one of life’s great mysteries – the secret of secrets – and proves to be a master metaphor for the process of individuation itself and spiritual regeneration. We will look at this process developmentally in relation to body, soul and spirit, and how it leads to the three stages of coniunctio as described by Jung in Mysterium Coniunctionis.
