Speaker

We happily offer this special opportunity to gather with our local community for a workshop and conversation with Jungian therapist and award-winning writer Dr. Connie Zweig. She will join us on a large screen.

With our extended longevity, we have a great opportunity to move from the busyness of our lives toward exploring our deepest longings.  The life changes we experience in late life such as retirement, illness, loss of spouse and friends can create the need to redefine who we are and how we live.

In this workshop, we will explore how to reorient by turning within, attuning to the soul’s longing and cultivating a deeper shift in awareness.  We will consider how to move through the passage of late life as a rite, releasing past forms, facing the unknown, and emerging renewed as an Elder filled with vitality and purpose.

The path onto this stage of life is filled with inner obstacles or shadow figures.  Carl Jung coined the term Shadow to refer to the area of the unconscious mind which is outside the light of awareness.  Specific tools of shadow-work and contemplative practice are required to uncover these obstacles and learn how to break free from them. This is the inner work of age.

The psychological and spiritual potential of this passage, dealing with denial, retirement, and loss of identity and meaning, will be the focus of this interactive, online presentation.  We will learn practices to shift our identities from doing to being, from role to soul.
