Plato defines therapy as care and service, not problem-solving, and so in this sense anyone may have a strong “therapist” in them and can care deeply for relatives and friends. Parents and teachers, for example, have to be “therapists” often and could use some guidance. The whole of culture in fact could adopt a therapeutic approach in every field to deal with problems of value, meaning, aggression and depression. To do therapy well you need an understanding of narrative and images, an awareness of all the invisible fantasies floating in the environment, and a degree of serenity and neutrality. This presentation is about how you can live therapeutically and also care effectively for the souls of others.
