“The helpful formula therefore is: spiritus contra spiritum (spirit against spirit).”  —CG Jung, January 30, 1961

We welcome David Schoen, who will be joining us from his home in Covington, Louisiana, near New Orleans. The evening’s discussion will center around The Bill W—Carl Jung Letters exchanged shortly before Jung’s death. The letters reveal the most about Jung’s views of alcoholism/addiction and treatment. They also reveal Jung’s unknown contribution in the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and the Twelve Steps. They present Jung’s belief that Archetypal Shadow/Archetypal Evil are an essential element of alcoholism and by implication, all other true psychological addictions.
