For, to the degree that he does not admit the validity of the other person, he denies the “other” within himself the right to exist—and vice versa. The capacity for inner dialogue is a touchstone for outer objectivity.

—Jung, CW, para. 187

In this presentation, Kathy and Sahara will discuss the book, “Living an Examined Life: Wisdom for the Second Half of the Journey” by James Hollis, PhD, Jungian Analyst.

They will also discuss their accompanying and ongoing in-person group with its focus on community building and supporting each other on this wandering journey called “life.”

The first 30 minutes will be spent discussing why both relationship and creative conflict are necessary for either individual or community growth and evolution toward wholeness—getting better at being human.

Like rocks in a stream, we must tumble and struggle with ourselves and with each other to polish, hone, and become smooth. More energy is spent in any given day on managing fear through unreflective compliance or avoidance than any other value.
