This monograph is a study on the hero's archetype, based on the interpretation and amplification of the cosmogonic - and eschatological - myth of the Apapocuva / Guarani, a Brazilian indigenous tribe, which was studied by Curt Nimuendaju Unkel, one of the most renowned ethnologists of the first half of the 20th century. Initially, some essential features of the focused indigenous myth are mentioned, seeking to situate it according to historical and anthropological elements. Next, we discuss the hero's theme from two different angles of view: the angle of Greek mythology (myth) and the angle of Analytical Psychology, by CG Jung (archetype). The highlight of the monograph is the interpretation centered on the figure of the hero of the myth Apapocuva, which describes the journey of Nhanderiqueí, from its conception, through the various feats, until reaching the Ivi-Marãei, the Land Without Evil. Through the richness of the mythical material, the symbols are being elaborated, making possible a greater apprehension, conceptual and imagery, of the hero's archetype. Finally, based on the material presented, the importance of the hero's archetype and its role in the personality development process is discussed.
