In all of her work she seeks to support the process of individuation through perception of one’s daimon or calling and clarification of one’s unconscious loyalties to and identifications with family and larger collectives. Her thesis, “The Power of the Ancestors: The Family Unconscious as a Source of Wounding and Healing” explores the intergenerational transmission of complexes and trauma from Jungian, family systems, and cross-cultural perspectives, and incorporates understandings gleaned from her training in the family constellations work of Bert Hellinger. Susan has presented lectures and workshops through Jungian societies in New York, Washington, Baltimore, and elsewhere. Her articles on depth psychology, wellness, and care of the soul have appeared in Psychological Perspectives, Independent School magazine, Common Boundary, New Age Journal, AARP magazine, and other publications.
