A slideshow talk containing a selection of the artist’s paintings which draw on key concepts from Jung’s psychoanalytical framework. An examination of the irrational, the subconscious, mandalas, archetypes, and the Jungian notion of self in visual art. An exploration of the influence of alchemy in Jung’s work, The Red Book and the idea of active imagination. The talk will also look at Jung’ influence in Florez’s alchemical painting series and Jung’s legacy in magical surrealism.
