This lecture and workshop series will take the participants on an intimate journey through Jung’s alchemical work bringing light to the healing process, the journey of individuation and the synchronicity that exist between dream work, astrology and Alchemy. In his essay “ The Psychology of the Transference” in Volume 16 of his collected works, C.G.Jung used the Rosarium Philosophorum, a 15th century alchemical text and series of wood cut prints, to describe the process of healing and the effect of the transference on the relationship between the healer and the healing. This essay was meant as an introduction to the Mysterium Coniunctionis, his treatise on Alchemy and his magnum opus, a book that took Jung ten years to write and that was the last main literary contribution of his life. In this lecture Martin will introduce us to Alchemy’s and Astrology’s basic premises by taking us through the woodcut slides one by one bringing to life the Philosophical Rose and how it inspired, affirmed and confirmed Jung’s work on Healing the Soul.
