En la actualidad hay cincuenta y seis conflictos armados activos en el mundo. Estos conflictos, algunos no resueltos desde hace décadas, van dejando tras de sí un reguero de millares de muertes, que desde una perspectiva consciente y racional consideraríamos innecesarias. Sin embargo, desde el amanecer de los tiempos la guerra aparece como un fenómeno universal, que cambia las actitudes y los comportamientos humanos. Esta metamorfosis surge espontáneamente porque hay algo que se moviliza conectando nuestro inconsciente individual con aspectos muy profundos del inconsciente colectivo. Por eso los arquetipos llegan a hacerse tan poderosos que fácilmente poseen y dominan a individuos, grupos sociales o incluso países enteros, remontándolos a vivencias ancestrales.
En este seminario, siguiendo la interpretación de la psique humana hecha por Carl G. Jung, nos adentraremos en esas imágenes míticas que pueblan nuestra cultura y que, a pesar de repetirse una y otra vez bajo diferentes formas, esconden un substrato afectivo común que engendra el odio, la rabia y el miedo al enemigo. Así pues, caminando por ese laberinto emocional escondido en las entrañas del inconsciente colectivo, nos acercaremos a esa misteriosa y aborrecible tendencia humana a la guerra, para comprender mejor también cuál sería el sendero más deseable que nos condujera a la construcción y conservación de la paz.

War and destructiveness, the dark part of the soul
There are currently fifty-six active armed conflicts in the world. These conflicts, some of which have not been resolved for decades, leave behind a trail of thousands of deaths, which from a conscious and rational perspective we would consider unnecessary. However, since the dawn of time, war has appeared as a universal phenomenon that changes human attitudes and behaviour. This metamorphosis arises spontaneously because there is something that is mobilized connecting our individual unconscious with very deep aspects of the collective unconscious. That is why the archetypes become so powerful that they easily possess and dominate individuals, social groups or even entire countries, going back to ancestral experiences. In this seminar, following the interpretation of the human psyche made by Carl G. Jung, we will delve into those mythical images that populate our culture and that, despite being repeated over and over again in different forms, hide a common affective substratum that engenders hatred, rage and fear of the enemy. Thus, walking through that emotional labyrinth hidden in the bowels of the collective unconscious, we will approach that mysterious and abhorrent human tendency to war, to better understand also what would be the most desirable path that would lead us to the construction and conservation of peace.
