The complex consequences of Pandemics, Wars and Involuntary Dislocation

This webinar addresses the complexities of the multiple consequences of what I call ‘Severe Forms of Collective Adversity’ (SFCA), which include catastrophic events such as the pandemic, war and environmental crises (e.g. climate change). My basic premise is that the effects of SFCA are comparable to those of Involuntary Dislocation, insofar as both unsettle the unique connection each person has with themselves and with their own inner and outer ecology. As such, the consequences of SFCA are considerable, affecting the core of one’s being as well as the mode of human relationships. Above all, it affects their very way they conceptualise events and experiences, and this is the route therapeutic interventions can follow, not only to repair the damages inflicted, but also to enable substantial positive transformation.
