This month we shall view a Canadian movie made in 1982 and titled The Grey Fox, portraying a real life desperado who fights and charms his way across the magnificent wilderness of Western Canada. His advanced age and problematic choices challenge our abilities to accept his morality. This story chronicles aspects of the radical social and technological changes as the 1800s flow into the 1900s, and invites a reflection on the psychology of heroic and antiheroic behavior. The photography, acting, and directing are as outstanding and astounding as the story.
The carefully chosen classic films illustrate psychologically meaningful themes, including the dynamic masculine-feminine archetype, the struggle between the higher self and the shadow, and the eternal quest for happiness. This Classic Cinema Seminar is being offered as a community service. Join each month via Zoom.
