Ma contribution entend montrer comment la pratique clinique avec les enfants a été transformée au cours des dernières décennies. A l’origine, l’enfant était considéré individuellement et l’intervention clinique comprenait habituellement une intervention pour l’enfant et un travail parallèle avec les parents. Grâce aux apports de l’ “Infant Research” et de l’ “Observation Infantile”, et plus particulièrement grâce aux réflexions de Dina Vallino en Italie, on a évolué vers une approche dans laquelle le symptôme de l’enfant est pensé comme un langage et comme une question adressée à quelqu’un. Il est alors abordé à partir de l’observation de la relation entre l’enfant et ses parents, dans un contexte de consultation parents-enfants. La présentation d’un cas clinique permettra d’appréhender concrètement les concepts théoriques présentés.

My contribution aims to show how clinical practice with children has been transformed in recent decades. Initially, the child was considered individually and clinical intervention usually included intervention for the child and parallel work with the parents. Thanks to the contributions of “Infant Research” and “Infant Observation”, and more particularly thanks to the reflections of Dina Vallino in Italy, we have evolved towards an approach in which the child’s symptom is thought of as a language and as a question addressed to someone. It is then approached from the observation of the relationship between the child and his parents, in a context of parent-child consultation. The presentation of a clinical case will provide a concrete understanding of the theoretical concepts presented.
