Analytical psychology recognizes the awareness of death as a stage in the process of human development and part of the process of individuation. We expanded the approach of the theme to include other experiences of losses, metaphorically considered "small deaths", followed by mourning. The experiences of mourning create a possibility of introspection, of self-knowledge, of descending into the world of Hades, being a necessary experience for the transformation of oneself.
