Early in my professional career, I met a curious, dedicated, and warm young woman who was going through difficult times. Initially she was nervous when we met. She did not know specifically how her life may change as a result of therapy.

Nora Swan-Foster

offer Jungian analysis, Jungian art therapy and Jungian oriented seminars, creative groups, supervision and creative renewal and consultations for artists/writers. My clinical training and interest in early intervention, attachment, trauma and childbearing related issues led to art therapy research in a Denver hospital, followed by presentations at the American Art Therapy Conference and international publications on the psychology of pregnancy revealed through the image. I enjoy creating and working with groups interested in the creative process and analytical psychology. I am also a member of the North American Editorial Board for the Journal of Analytical Psychology. For over five years I have served as the Seminar Coordinator for the Boulder Jung Seminar (BAJA), an affiliate training seminar with the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts. As a founding member, I work closely with faculty, seminar participants, and training candidates, as well as teach day-long seminars from Jung’s Collected Works on the fundamentals of analytical psychology, dream analysis, active imagination and art therapy, feminine initiation, fairy tales and picture interpretation. As a senior training analyst with the IRSJA, I also serve on several committees and offer supervision to candidates. Returning to teach a graduate level course on Jungian psychology and transpersonal concepts at Naropa University led to the publication of my book: Jungian Art Therapy http://bit.ly/swanfosterroutledge. Previously I was on the graduate art therapy faculty at Naropa for 8 years where I taught clinical course work, supervised students, and participated in curriculum development. Specialties: Jungian art therapy, dream analysis, psychoanalysis, pre and perinatal art psychotherapy, attachment and trauma work, lectures and workshops that synthesize the use of the creative process through dreams, art and writing, as well as individual creative renewal and coaching for artists/writers.
