Robert Black

I was born and educated in Canada, and have lived for extended periods in Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Toronto. From a very early time, I showed interest in “the ancestors.” Symbolically, one can understand that as the unconscious; or epigenetically, as the influence in life of “active” psychological factors from one’s background. But of course I first understood it as a tangible curiosity about dead forebears, and through that pursuit came to love history, heraldry, genetics, and story. All good stuff, and all good preparation for analytical work.

Christina Becker

Hi, I’m Christina Becker and thank you again for visiting my website. Below you will hear more about me, my educational background and the path that I took to become a Jungian Analyst. The road to becoming a psychoanalyst started from my own soul journey. Like everyone who starts a healing journey, my first experience of seeking help was driven by finding relief for suffering and emotional chaos. At midlife, my life felt empty and meaningless, and I needed to discover the parts of myself where there were life, joy and energy. The road took a different path as I went deeper and deeper into myself. This eventually took me to C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. I found meaning, purpose and fulfilment in exploring Jung’s ideas and experiences. Since then, I have devoted myself to my individuation journey and that of my clients. The C.G Jung Institute (Zurich) is the only institute in the world founded by Carl Gustav Jung. It is the source and the beginning of analytical psychology and still has close connections to the Jung family. It was such a gift to be training less than a km from Jung’s house on Lake Zurich.

I am a Certified Jungian Analyst and Psychotherapist at the CGJung Institute in Copenhagen, (see below), and have run my practice at Tønsberg Psychotherapy since 2003. This is a solid 6 year psychotherapeutic education with high demands on self-therapy; 100 hours before you can apply for admission at all, another 200 during the study period, and 100 hours of supervision of clients when you get this far. The students’ progression is evaluated every year, there are two compulsory essays each year, and finally a thesis as a basis for final approval.
