From Roots to Revelation: The 2025/26 Grass Roots Seminars Accessible Online

Wednesday evening lectures, from September 2025 to March 2026

The C.G. Jung Club London‘s renowned Grass Roots Seminars embrace the digital age for the 2025/26 season, bringing over fifty years of Jungian education directly to participants’ homes through online delivery. These seminars continue a tradition established over fifty years ago while adapting to contemporary learning needs.

The program opens in September with Jung the Man, establishing biographical context before progressing through core theoretical concepts. Term 1 covers essential structures including the psyche, persona, ego and self, projection, archetypes, shadow, animus and anima, and complexes. Term 2 expands into practical applications, exploring psychological types, Jung’s approach to religion, myth and fairytales, synchronicity, active imagination, dreams, art and symbolism, alchemy, and culminating with individuation.

Each seminar features expert analysts and scholars, ensuring both accessibility for newcomers and depth for experienced practitioners. The program particularly emphasizes experiential learning, with Active Imagination and Individuation sessions.

This enduring series traces its origins to 1973 when Faye Pye, former chair of what became the C.G. Jung Club London, established these foundational seminars. Pye, who trained directly with Jung and Toni Wolff in Zurich, envisioned systematic education in analytical psychology’s basic principles. Her metaphor of “grass roots” reflected her agricultural imagery: preparing ground, sowing seeds, nurturing growth from foundational understanding toward mature practice.

Pye’s own diverse experience—from medical training to clinical work in South Africa, where she encountered the psychological impacts of apartheid and cultural division—informed her understanding that solid theoretical grounding was essential for navigating complex psychological terrain. Her legacy continues through these seminars, which maintain her vision of building strong foundations for understanding the psyche’s structure and dynamics..

Each session requires pre-booking for Zoom access, and can be attended individually or as a whole. You can download the full programme here.
