“The Sun and the Moon in the Quadrants” is the second of three advanced astrology courses offered by Alexander Von Schlieffen on the Jung Platform.
Three courses comprise the advanced level. They can be taken independently, although they make most sense taken in order. They are:
Part One: Elements & Quadrants
Part Two: The Sun and the Moon in the Quadrants
Part Three: The Ascendant and its Ruler
In this interactive course, Part Two, Alexander takes a profound and playful look at the Sun and the Moon in the quadrants. The Sun, the Moon and the Ascendant contain the core of our life story. The Ascendent will be addressed in Part Three. The other planets add complexity to the topic, but the essence can be found studying these three astrological factors.
The Sun shows how we act, where our motor is and how it runs. The Moon provides the emotional fuel for the Sun. It describes the way we feel about life, people and intimacy. It shapes our daily moods and shows how we reconnect with life’s origins. The Ascendant symbolizes our life task, what we’re called to bring into existence. Once we understand this “triplicity“ in an individual birth chart, we find the essence of someone’s personal life path.
This is where the interpretation of a natal chart begins; the conscious wheel of the Sun might be identified with one way to relate to the world. But our unconscious needs, as they are symbolized by the position of the Moon, might lead us down a very different path. The art of astrology is to help us reconcile or honor the different ways we’re characteristically pushed and pulled.
Seeing the Sun and the Moon in the quadrants helps you see yourself and others freshly. You can’t work with what you have until you know what you have. Agency starts with knowing what’s influencing you and what’s at your disposal.
