A major interest of Jung’s in the last 10 years of his life was the phenomenon of Ufos—flying saucers—and he had friends and family collect data from all over the world. The widespread interest in Ufos was suggestive to Jung of a shift underway in mass consciousness. This course examines the phenomenon, using the essay Jung wrote about Ufos, as well as John Mack’s work with persons reporting abductions by aliens. We also consider what the phenomenon might mean for us, as we deal with the transition to the Age of Aquarius.
