CGJISF an IAAP member & training organisation in San Francisco, United States
Parent organisation:
The C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco is a non-profit organization that provides training in Jungian psychology and psychotherapy. The institute is one of the oldest and most well-established Jungian training centers in the United States.
With roots going back to the founding of San Francisco’s Medical Society for Analytical Psychology in 1943, ours was the first Jungian analytic training program in the world. The institute was founded in 1962 and it is affiliated with the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) and is recognized by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. It provides a four-year training program for individuals interested in becoming Jungian analysts, which includes both academic coursework and supervised clinical experience.
The Institute also offers workshops, lectures, and other educational programs for the general public, as well as for mental health professionals. They are open to the public, and cover a wide range of topics related to Jungian psychology, including dream analysis, the work of Carl Jung, and the psychology of the psyche. Our extensive analytical psychology library and the Archive for Research in Archetypal Symbolism (ARAS) are available for research.
The mission of The C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco is to provide education and training in the theories and practices of Analytical Psychology, to promote the understanding and value of Jungian psychology, to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information, and to encourage the application of Jungian psychology to the broader culture.
The Institute plays a significant role in the Jungian community in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it is recognized as an important center for the study and practice of Jungian psychology in the United States.
