ANZSJA an IAAP member & training organisation in Sassafras, Australia
Parent organisation:
The Australian and New Zealand Society of Jungian Analysts (ANZSJA) is the clinical and professional body of Jungian analysts who offer analysis and psychotherapy throughout Australia and New Zealand.
ANZSJA now has over fifty analysts in its membership who have variously trained in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Switzerland, USA, Italy and the United Kingdom/London. These different backgrounds offer a rich cultural diversity to ANZSJA and a sensitivity towards the importance of cultural awareness within our communities. Also reflected within our membership of ANZSJA analysts are the multiplicity of Jungian and post-Jungian approaches to individual analysis and psychotherapy. Many members of our diverse analytic community have specialised experience and certification in related areas of clinical practice such as psychiatry, relationship therapy, child psychotherapy, art therapy and sandplay therapy.
ANZSJA is a group member of the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP). The IAAP is the umbrella organisation for Jungian Analysts worldwide that maintains our standards of training, ensures ethical practice and oversees the international interest in analytical psychology. ANZSJA has a vital engagement with the IAAP. Our members attend and present at IAAP Congresses as well as serving on the IAAP international committees and working groups.
ANZSJA analysts have made significant contributions to the community. Many of the public interest Jung Societies have been established and maintained by Jungian analysts. Our analysts have involvement in cultural events and productions, become involved in contributing to academic institutions and lecturing internationally, publishing and film making. ANZSJA has the opportunity to offer a bridge in thinking between Western and Eastern analytical ideas as well as making valuable and insightful contributions across the wide range of disciplines that include C.G. Jung in their thinking.
ANZSJA is governed by an Executive Council and has various committees that plan and oversee analytic training, uphold ethical standards, support the membership, and prepare public programs. Along with sustaining an active connection with the IAAP, ANZSJA maintains affiliations with both the Australasian Confederation of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Australia and the Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ).
