The Red Book (2009)chronicles what Jung called his ‘confrontation with the unconscious’. He referred to the series of dreams, fantasies and illustrations as ‘active imagination’ and they form the basis from which he developed analytical psychology as a theoretical discipline and psychotherapeutic approach.
In this seminar you will be invited to work with a select few images and text from the Red Book. They will be images you have selected. We will explore ways to take these images into the body in an attempt to discover our own processes of an embodied active imagination as well as learning more about Jung’s process of creating the Red Book.
To prepare for the seminar peruse the Red Book and select images or passages that speak to you. Why you select certain images over others does not matter. What or how you choose does not matter so long as you feel drawn in some way to what you have chosen.
