Mother, Mother Archetype and Mother Complex

Jung wrote of the Mother as “one of the most moving and unforgettable memories of our lives, the mysterious root of all growth and change; the love that means homecoming, shelter and the long silence from which everything begins and in which everything ends.” And later as a “frail and fallible human being, so deserving of love, indulgence, understanding and forgive-ness.” (Jung, CG., Collected Works, Vol. 9i §172.) This is a challenging statement.

In this experiential seminar you will have the opportunity of exploring your memories, dreams and reflections of Mother and also of making your own mother doll. In the evening I will present a power-point covering many aspects of the Mother. On Saturday we will explore the theme at greater depth and then make our mother dolls. All materials will be provided, but please bring scissors, a favourite piece of material and a photograph of your mother.
