The fifth seminar on Critical Psychology will address a relationship between psychology and spirituality, a relationship that is not fully understood.
Spirituality is a broad and “slippery” concept that all of us have heard at some point in our lives. Contemporary Western culture has co-opted the concept of spirituality, and stripped it from its cultural roots and contexts. The next seminar on Critical Psychology will explore what Spirituality is, what it is not, and the ways in which it can empower the common good.
We will briefly explore the following questions:
– Why is it important for Psychologists to take into account a person’s spiritual dimension?
– How has spirituality been transformed to the service of capitalism in Western Culture?
– How can spiritual involvement become a source of community empowerment?
These events on Critical Psychology are a monthly feature for our community.
