“If there is a problem and a solution, there is no need to worry. If there is a problem and no solution, there is no point to worry. So, really there is no problem.”
This quote is from the wisdom and insight of an 8th Century Buddhist Indian sage named Shantideva. This insight still has the power to help us find peace of mind today in the 21st Century. All living creatures are alike in wanting happiness and wanting to avoid suffering. So why is it that there is so much difficulty in our inner and outer world these days? How does each of us find a way to create inner peace and a clear presence of mind?
In this two-part workshop, Tenzin Dasel will offer a meditation on cultivating a down-to-earth, wise and compassionate approach to the challenges we are certain to face in life and how we can embrace them as part of the sacred journey of waking up. Tenzin will also explore the (r)evolutionary nature of change, which has the power to help us accept impermanence by examining the nature of change, some reasonable responses to discover peace of mind, and how we can embark on a mystical state of mind to embrace and opening inwardly to stability grounded in awareness. There will be opportunities to ask questions, practice simple breath meditation and engage in compassionate, open-hearted, present-moment awareness.
