To look into a child’s eye is to look into the future. Full of promise, spirit, and contentment, they move into the world with confidence and hope. In their eyes we see the story of their parent’s love, and their ready smile and expression of joy, tells us that they are adored. Then too, there is that forlorn look in the child’s eyes which speaks of their sadness, of loss, and of things which someday they will speak of, and convey through their actions.
Mythology and fairy tales abound with stories of the sacred and eternal child, and also of those cast off from a mother’s love. As their path into the future is often etched in their earliest experiences, these desperately need to be listened to by one who has dedicated their life to understanding the personal and archetypal journey of the child.
World-renowned Jungian Analysts, Magda di Renzo from Italy and Jacqueline Dürmüller from Switzerland, will present their experiences and expertise gained through a lifetime of working with children. They will speak about how they have touched the hearts and souls of many children, and have played a significant role in helping to change what may have been a fated life into one with a greater destiny.
That future conveyed in the child’s eyes not only speaks of a personal but also of the collective future of humanity. Perhaps now more than ever we hope that our children – and the eternal child living within each of us – will see beyond the temporal and can live with a sense of hope for what lies ahead.

What You Can Expect from the Seminar Series
- This seminar series will address the presence and workings of archetypes in children, and how these affect their lives.
- Faculty will present ways of working with these dynamics through play therapy, sand tray therapy, dream analysis and more.
- They will also address the issue of parents’ involvement in treatment, and how to include the parents in the treatment without compromising the child’s therapy.
- While all of this represents ways of trying to understand the child, the real work is to help the child feel safe enough to express what is in their heart and soul.
