http://www.jungsocietymelbourne.com/At the instigation of the late Hazel Parker in 1962, Dr Euan MacLean organised a showing of the filmed interview "C G Jung: Face to Face" by John Freeman. At the end of the evening Ms Parker's suggestion "Let's have a Jung Society" was taken up. The Jung Society of Melbourne is reputed to have been the very first Jung Society in the world not to be established a professional body of therapists, but instead by a collection of academics, health and therapeutic professionals plus autodidacts, students, and the merely curious - and so it remains today.
The Four Feminine Archetypes of Toni Wolff and their Modern Day Expression
Toni Wolff wrote her essay about the structural forms of the Feminine Psyche in 1938, when she identified four main archetypes that she named as “Medial, Amazon, Mother and Heraira”. Now, a ground-breaking research tool developed by Tracey Rankin has statistically validated the continued existence of these same four archetypes, in modern guise.
Tracey will give a fascinating account of how each form continues to manifest itself as a particular way of being. We will also see how modern women are ably expressing themselves through a combination of archetypes, some of which oppose Toni’s original hypotheses, about these existing as pairs of opposites. Rankin believes that understanding who we are at this archetypal level helps to un-tap the potential of women personally and collectively.
Find out how women of today express these archetypes and discover something about yourself and all women in the process!
