The Unconscious Unleashed: Jungian Insights into the Integration of Non-Ordinary Sates of Consciousness
The Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA) is pleased to announce our fifth invitational conference, welcoming Jungian Analysts and members of the International Association for Analytical Psychology, participants in IRSJA seminars and study groups, and students of Jungian psychology.
Psychedelic drugs and techniques to create non-ordinary states of consciousness are becoming increasingly popular as a gateway into the deepest levels of the psyche. Inducing a non-ordinary state of consciousness can involve profound changes in perception, thought, emotion, and sense of self that are meaningful and transformative.
They can also unleash a torrent of images and experiences that are experienced as numinous and powerful.
Analytical Psychology offers a distinctive viewpoint on the experiences of non-ordinary consciousness and psychedelics. Examining these experiences through symbolism, Jungians can support their integration and the understanding of the Spirit of the Depths. Jungian Analysts can provide a critical lens on the material arising from these journeys to support individuation and greater consciousness.
This two-day conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will explore how analytical psychology can deepen the understanding and the integration of the unconscious of these experiences.
Featuring Keynote speaker Tom Neilson, PsyD, a licensed clinical psychologist who is also a psychedelic-trained psychologist practicing in Nashville. He has considerable in-depth training in Psychedelic- and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and completed the Certificate Program in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapies and Research at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
