The Theme of the Conference
The world's upheavals initiate new modes of existence, shaking societies to their foundations and questioning the individual in his or her search for meaning. The echoes of this collective world resound in the analytical crucible. They polarize the psyche, contaminating the individual, but also opening up new spaces for symbolization. New frameworks are emerging for analysts and patients. What are our experiences as analysts? What are the energetic tensions we need to address? In these interfaces between inner and outer worlds, the imaginary world of Hieronymus Bosch, people with dragons and athanors, will inspire our reflections. A meditative contemplation of one of his paintings, on display at a nearby museum, will provide a sensitive and symbolic basis for our questioning.
The Spirit of the Conference
In the spirit of the “Rencontres des psychanalystes jungiens francophones”, the purpose of this conference is to create a place and a time for French-speaking Jungians from different countries to meet and reconnect, allowing them to embrace difference and authenticity. The aim is therefore to encourage exchanges and conviviality, so that we can “put our persona in the « cloakroom » meeting in our nakedness but in a secure container. Work sessions are designed as small-group workshops, to avoid the freezing effect of numbers. They encourage sharing and they take into account the body and emotions, while maintaining contentment. These work sessions will enable us to visit the places where shadow and difficulty lie, in a respectful confrontation of our experiences as analysts.
The Workshops
Each workshop will be organised around a specific material: a clinical situation, a story, an extract from a book, images, music, poetry, etc. The idea is that we can draw on concrete material (prima materia) to fuel genuine work in situ, with all that it entails in terms of attempts, emotions, approaches, imperfections, imagination and openness to the unknown. The workshops encourage sharing and take into account the body and emotions while maintaining
composure. They should also allow us to explore the darker and more difficult corners of our experience, in a respectful confrontation with our experiences as analysts. In order to truly ‘work on what is at work for us’, we would like to invite you to propose your own questions, workshop themes and/or topics for reflection based on your experience as an analyst. We believe it is important to focus less on the ‘noises of the world ‘as such, than on how it enter and is received in our consultations, in our encounters with patients, in our lives as analysts... and in our lives in general.
