“Because every man has a right over his own life and war destroys lives that were full of promise.” – Sigmund Freud.

On Thursday February 24th, the world woke up to the reality of another war in Europe. While there are conflicts raging across the world all the time, war in Europe is resonant for many of us, and there is an eery and unfortunate familiarity about superpowers or spheres of influence facing off by proxy in a third country less able to fend for itself.

This week’s discussion will give the our community the opportunity to reflect on our own experiences of these recent sad events.

Every week on the Stillpoint community we choose a relevant topic to discuss together. It may be a recently released research paper, or a contemporary event or issue that we try to understand better through the lens of psychology. Each week is different and provides an opportunity for our community to come together and discuss our shared passion – psychology in the 21st century.

This discussion is facilitated by psychotherapist Dr. Aaron Balick who will kick off the conversation by summarising the weekly topic to be discussed.
