The C.G. Jung Foundation for Analytical Psychology is hosting an online fundraiser event, interpreting the independent short film ‘Harry’s Gift’ through a Jungian Lens. The event will be moderated by Christina McDonald, with opening remarks by Jane Selinske, President of the C.G. Jung Foundation. Following the film screening, a discussion will be led by Jane Selinske and Heide Kolb, both Jungian analysts, alongside Freudian analyst Nunzio Gubitosa.
The film, directed by Alexandra Isles, examines the life of Harry Shunk, an internationally renowned photographer who becomes a reclusive hoarder in New York City’s West Village. After his passing, Darryl Kelly is tasked with clearing Shunk’s apartment, uncovering a trove of valuable photographs and artworks amidst the clutter. Will this discovery shed light on Shunk’s hidden legacy, or even transform Kelly’s life?
Isles is known for her history-based documentaries that emphasize social justice and dignity for outsiders and will also be part of the evening’s discussion.
