Confronting the End Times: A Jungian Gathering in Brazil

MOITARÁ, November 28-30, 2025

The Brazilian Society of Analytical Psychology (SBPA) is opening its flagship conference to the world for the first time. The 35th edition of MOITARÁ, Brazil’s premier gathering of Jungian analysts and depth psychology practitioners, will be held at Campos do Jordao, Sao Paulo, and online from November 28-30, 2025, making this landmark event accessible to international participants.

This year’s theme confronts perhaps the most urgent question of our time: “APOCALYPSE: WHAT WILL TOMORROW BECOME?” As multiple global crises converge, the conference explores how the psyche responds to collective fear, transformation, and the dance between endings and beginnings.

Over three days, Jungian analysts, specialists, and renowned professionals from diverse fields will examine which myths are constellating in our era, how individuals and cultures respond to unprecedented change, and what collective symbols emerge in crisis. Sessions will address the psychological impact of living with simultaneous apocalyptic dread and hope for renewal, offering practical approaches for navigating contemporary collapses and reconfigurations.

MOITARÁ has established itself over 35 years as more than a conference, but a vital gathering that has shaped Latin American approaches to Jungian thought. The name itself evokes indigenous wisdom and sacred gathering, reflecting Brazil’s distinctive integration of multiple cultural and spiritual traditions within psychological practice.

In-person attendance is sold out but a request can be made to be added to the waiting list. The online format includes live broadcasts with recordings available afterward. Registration is open at SBPA website, with registrants entered to win a year’s supply of Analytical Psychology books from Editora Vozes.
