Online conference celebrating 10 years of the IAAP Analysis and Activism Forum

The first IAAP Analysis and Activism Conference, organised by Emilija Kiehl and Andrew Samuels, took place in London in 2014. The  conference was in response to the “political turn” in Analytical Psychology which had seen Jungian analysts and academics become increasingly active in the broadly political sphere includingpsychosocial and humanitarian interventions, conflict resolution, ecopsychology, issues affecting indigenous peoples, prejudice and discrimination, leadership and citizenship, social inclusion, and economics and finance”. Speakers at the original conference included Jerome Bernstein, Walter Boechat, Stefano Carta, Angela Cotter, Peter Dunlap, Tom Kelly, Sam Kimbles, Ann Kutek, Renos Papadopoulos, Eva Pattis-Zoja, Mary-Jayne Rust, Andrew Samuels, Tom Singer, and Tristan Troudart among others.

Not only was the conference itself a very vibrant and stimulating event it  clearly sparked something in the Jungian community producing. An ongoing Analysis and Activism email group was started after th conference and is still very active today. Also there have been regular IAAP Analysis and Activism conferences since then.

In celebration of 10 years of the Analysis and Activism forum the steering committee: Manca Svara, Kathleen Kirgin, Tine Papic,
Michat Stankiewicz, and Alex Sierck have announced a one-day online conference taking placer on Saturday,  7 December 2024.  Speakers include Emilija Kiehl, Mary-Jayne Rust, Monica Luci, Andrew Samuels, Stefano Carta, Luigi Zoja, Tom Singer and Tine Papic.
