Emotions: Analyses and Interfaces

Two books releasing in April 2025 from Routledge

In April, two forthcoming books will deepen our understanding of emotions from both a Jungian and interdisciplinary perspective. Edited by Elizabeth Brodersen, Isabelle Meier, and Valeria Céspedes Musso, these volumes build on discussions from the 2023 international conference “I Feel, Therefore I Am”, held in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the C.G. Jung Institute Zurich.

Jungian and Interdisciplinary Analyses of Emotions: Method and Imagery explores the multifaceted nature of emotions, emphasizing their connection to imagination, archetypes, relational trauma, and neuroscience. Contributors examine the emotional basis of complexes and the impact of dissociated emotions on symptomatology, while clinical cases illustrate the therapeutic role of emotions in the individuation process, showing how their integration fosters psychological wholeness.

Jungian and Interdisciplinary Interfaces Between Emotions: Individual and Collective Trauma expands the discussion to the intersections of emotions with embodiment, gender, ecopsychology, and historical trauma. Examining how emotions emerge within somatic, cultural, and mythological contexts, this volume addresses their role in shaping identity, societal narratives, and therapeutic practice.

Both of these volumes are available fore pre-order on the Routledge site, and will be released on the 9th of April.
