The International Queer Jungian Initiative invites you to its next gathering on Sunday, January 26, 2025. This session features Dr. Gabriel Contreira Sansoni, a distinguished Brazilian psychiatrist and Jungian analyst, presenting Between Apollo and Dionysus – The Expression of the Cultural Complex of Homophobia in the Lives of Gay Men. Dr. Sansoni will consider how the imposed inferiority of homophobia shapes the Apollonian and Dionysian dynamics in the lives of gay men, offering insights into compensatory mechanisms and cultural complexities.
Dr. Sansoni, member of the Brazilian Society of Analytical Psychology (SBPA) and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), holds a medical degree and advanced psychiatric training from Santa Casa de São Paulo. His expertise in psychotherapy further enriches this compelling exploration of queer psychological experiences.
The meeting will begin with a one-hour social dreaming matrix, followed by a 15-minute break, and then a 75-minute presentation and discussion. It is open to all queer Jungians and interested participants.
Mark your calendar for future meetings on February 23, March 23, April 27, and May 25. The organizing group is also seeking new members and fresh ideas for future gatherings. If you’d like to join or suggest topics, contact [email protected].
