The International Association for Jungian Studies (IAJS) has announced the winners of the 2024 Book Awards.
In the Best Edited Book category, the award went to C. G. Jung Letters to Hedy Wyss 1936–1956, edited and accompanied by commentary from Andreas Schweizer, published by Daimon Verlag.
Michael Gellert’s Legacy of Darkness and Light: Our Cultural Icons and Their God Complex won the Best Applied Book award. Published by Koehler Books, this work examines how cultural icons influence and reflect collective psychological dynamics.
For the Best Theoretical Book, Reflections on the Life and Dreams of C. G. Jung by Aniela Jaffé, translated by Caitlin Stephens with commentary by Elena Fischli, was recognized. This Daimon Verlag publication explores Jung’s inner world, drawing connections between his dreams and his contributions to depth psychology.
Ruth Williams took home the Best Clinical Book award for her work, Exploring Spirituality from a Post-Jungian Perspective: Clinical and Personal Reflections. Published by Routledge, the book integrates clinical practice with spiritual exploration, offering valuable insights for practitioners and scholars alike.
Barbara Cerminara received the IAJS 2024 Best Article in IJJS Journal Award for her thought-provoking piece, Jung’s Recalcitrant Fourth: The South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and the Resentful Victim. This article investigates Jungian concepts as they intersect with historical and cultural trauma, offering a nuanced perspective on reconciliation and victimhood.
