Illuminating Jungian Concepts and Themes

ISAP Public Program Spring Semester Starting 25 February

ISAP Zurich’s Spring 2025 Public Semester offers a compelling opportunity to explore the depths of Jungian psychology through an array of engaging lectures and discussions – both Zoom and on-site attendance possible.

The semester begins with Dariane Pictet’s lecture on Key Concepts in Analytical Psychology, providing an essential introduction to foundational Jungian ideas such as the ego, Self, complexes, and archetypes. For those drawn to the symbolic world of dreams, Nancy van den Berg Cook’s exploration of Masculine Figures in Dreams sheds light on Jung’s concept of the animus, revealing the symbolic significance of male figures in women’s dreams. Similarly, Judith Savage offers a deeply moving perspective on childbearing loss in her presentation When the Bough Breaks: Dreaming the Lost Child, connecting these dreams to the archetypal process of mourning and meaning-making.

Art enthusiasts will find inspiration in Kathrin Schaeppi’s presentation on the ISAP Zurich Picture Exhibit and Collection, from which there are images in the banner, which highlights the therapeutic value of artistic expressions created within the framework of Jungian analysis. Meanwhile, Paul Brutsche’s exploration of Dreams in the Face of Disability, Illness, and Death provides a poignant look at how dreams can offer guidance and consolation during life’s most challenging moments.

Early registration is recommended due to limited interaction opportunities for virtual attendees. Open to both on-site and Zoom participants, the program brings together renowned speakers to illuminate timeless concepts and address contemporary psychological themes
