The C.G. Jung Foundation of New York and the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago invite you to embark on an extraordinary educational journey to the Sacred Ground of Vedas, India. Scheduled from February 6 to 18, 2026, this marks the 19th annual Jungian passage to India, offering a unique opportunity to explore the nation’s profound archetypal landscape through the lens of analytical psychology. Guided by Ashok Bedi and his wife, Ami, the journey focuses on Central India’s Madhya Pradesh, a region rich with the enduring presence of Vedic culture. This spiritual bedrock was formed by the four ancient scriptures: the Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, and Atharvaveda. Sacred sites along the Narmada River, such as Ujjain and Omkareshwar, echo with hymns and symbols that speak equally to the outer cosmos and the inner world. Dr. Bedi will amplify and deepen Jung’s teachings through lectures and dream groups, integrating new research in psychology and neuroscience with timeless Indian wisdom.
This specially curated itinerary balances intense psychological reflection with the sheer beauty of India’s diverse locations. First on the list is Maheshwar and Ahilya Fort. The journey begins at the magnificent Ahilya Fort, a 250-year-old heritage hotel perched on a cliff overlooking the sacred Narmada River. This location, once the capital of a celebrated woman ruler, serves as a powerful space for introductory lectures and exploring Maheshwar, an important pilgrimage center filled with ancient temples. Highlights include a drive to Omkareshwar, home to one of India’s most famous Shiva temples, and a visit to the deserted 15th-century citadel of Mandu, known as the ‘city of Joy.’
Next, travelers will take a scenic five-hour train ride across the Indian countryside to Bhopal, then visit the Bhimbetka Rock Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site spanning the Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods—a profound encounter with humanity’s earliest art. The group will then immerse themselves in the pristine nature of Satpura National Park for three days. Participants will combine lectures, talks, and discussions with exciting jeep and walking safaris, and canoe rides, observing a vast array of biodiversity including the Royal Bengal Tiger and Indian bison, creating a perfect backdrop for reflecting on the collective unconscious and wild instinct.
As the group size is limited to ensure an intimate and rich experience, prospective participants are encouraged to register early to secure their space.
