Last Call! Join the Celebration of 70 Years of the Journal of Analytical Psychology

held online, November 7-8, 2025

Time is running out to register for the Journal of Analytical Psychology’s (JAP) special 70th-anniversary conference, “Controversies & Contemporary Trends in Analytical Psychology,” held online, November 7-8, 2025. This is your final chance to secure a spot at a global event honoring Jung’s “truly gigantic labours” by subjecting his field to the scrutiny and constructive criticism it deserves.

The conference is structured to take attendees on a journey from the JAP’s foundational history right up to the cutting-edge debates shaping the future of Analytical Psychology. The conference kicks off on Friday evening, November 7th, with a foundational session led by John Beebe, former US editor of the JAP. Beebe will explore the Journal’s history and its crucial role as a forum for ongoing debates. He’ll offer a long view of how the JAP has navigated and integrated the contributions of classical, developmental, and relational approaches to Analytical Psychology.

Saturday, November 8th, is a full day dedicated to the present-day controversies and most important emerging trends. The lineup features world-class experts who have all published extensively on their topics:

First up is ‘The “Archetype” Debate‘, one of the most fundamental (and fiercely debated!) concepts in the field with Christian Roesler & Eric Goodwyn. Next, ‘Body-Mind and Countertransference‘ explores the indispensable role of the analyst’s experience—and the embodied relationship—in the consulting room with Susanna Wright & Mark Winborn. ‘Affectivity, Implicit Memory, and Attachment‘ analyses the latest research on how pre-verbal experience shapes the therapeutic encounter with Jean Knox & Joe Cambray. Lastly, ‘Cultural Complexes and Phantom Narratives‘, join Kevin Lu & Sam Kimbles to examine the importance of cultural complexes and how collective unconscious patterns manifest in our social and political lives.

This conference is entirely online, and recordings will be made available to all registered participants. Secure your spot by signing up here.
