There are three conferences happening in the world of Analytical Psychology today. They bring together global perspectives on the intersection of psychology, politics, altered states of consciousness, and the incomprehensible aspects of human experience.
The 2024 Presidency Conference, hosted by the San Francisco C.G. Jung Institute, will take place at the Institute itself. This conference, which has been held during every U.S. presidential election cycle since 2000, focuses on the psychological dimensions of our political landscape. This year’s theme, Politics in a Traumatized World: Dystopia and the Creative Imagination, invites participants to explore the dystopian imagery and trauma that permeate modern politics. Featured speakers include prominent Jungians such as Tom Singer, Donald Kalsched, Carolyn Bates, and Betty Sue Flowers, who will offer insights into how these dynamics reflect the deeper currents of the collective psyche.
Starting today, the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA) host a two-day invitational conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, titled The Unconscious Unleashed: Jungian Insights into Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness. As interest in psychedelics and other techniques for inducing altered states of consciousness grows, this conference will explore how Analytical Psychology can support the integration of these experiences. Keynote speaker Tom Neilson, a leading figure in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, will delve into the therapeutic potential of these non-ordinary states, offering a Jungian perspective on how they can catalyze individuation and psychological transformation.
The IX Jornada de Psicología Analítica will take place in Santiago, Chile, offering a hybrid format to accommodate both in-person and virtual attendees. This year’s theme, Experiences of the Incomprehensible: Jungian Explorations and Understandings, invites participants to explore psychological experiences that challenge easy comprehension. The event will feature discussions on transgenerational trauma, family complexes, and cultural realities that are difficult to grasp. The two-day event will examine themes ranging from spirituality and death to clinical cases that defy conventional understanding, offering a space for deep reflection on the mysteries of the psyche.
