The Journal of Analytical Psychology publishes interviews with eminent analysts who have contributed to the development of analytical psychology. Here, Christopher Jerome Carter is in conversation with Andrew Samuels, who talks about pressing, controversial and divisive issues that are important to the Jungian world and beyond. Andrew has been a sort of in-house rebel in the field of Jungian analysis and in psychotherapy for over 40 years. He has spearheaded campaigns calling for action in connection with Jung’s anti-Semitism and Jung’s attitudes to Africans. Andrew’s work linking therapy thinking and politics is internationally recognised. Andrew has written many books that have been translated into 21 languages, including Jung and the Post-Jungians and The Political Psyche. His most recent book is Reflecting Critically on the Political Psyche: Therapy, Testament and Trouble in Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis.
