Welcome to the Jungian Aion!

Dr. Robert Moore (1942–2016) was a Jungian psychoanalyst and professor known for his groundbreaking work on archetypal masculinity. Integrating Jungian psychology, anthropology, and religious studies, Moore mapped out the four fundamental archetypes of mature masculinity—King, Warrior, Magician, Lover—which shape the male psyche.

In this lecture, filmed at 2004, Moore explores how these deep psychological structures influence personality, behavior, and personal growth. He highlights how each archetype has both a mature and shadow form, and how a lack of integration can lead to dysfunction in men’s lives. His insights provide a path toward balanced masculinity, showing how individuals can activate these archetypal energies for transformation.

Moore emphasized the importance of initiation and ritual in personal development, arguing that modern society lacks the rites of passage needed for psychological maturity. He believed that without structured initiation, many men remain trapped in adolescent patterns, unable to embody their full potential. By reconnecting with these ancient psychological blueprints, individuals can cultivate strength, wisdom, and purpose—restoring balance to both their inner world and the world around them.

Moore’s work continues to shape psychology, men’s development, and Jungian thought, offering a profound vision of what it means to embody strength, wisdom, and wholeness in today’s world.
