In this episode of the podcast I am speaking with Ronnie Pontiac about the Orphic Mysteries. Amongst other things we talk about Ficino in the Renaissance, translating the old texts, Neoplatonism, the influence of Ficino on Pico and others, Savanarola. Agrippa, Paracelsus, Orphic Mysteries as tuning or resonating with the divine. We also speak about the influence of Orphic mystery later on the Continent and in the UK and US through people such as Thomas Taylor and Emerson, for example.

Ronnie Pontiac was the personal research assistant for Manly P. Hall at the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles. He is author of American Metaphysical Religion: Esoteric and Mystical Traditions of the New World. He is coauthor with Tamra Lucid of The Magic of the Orphic Hymns: A New Translation for the Modern Mystic.
