Cosmos and Zeitgeist: An Archetypal-Astrological Analysis of the 2020s
Archetypal astrology is based on a demonstrated correlation between cosmology and the psychology of the unconscious. It studies correspondences between the movements of the planets in their orbits and the manifestation of archetypes—universal themes, energies, and patterns—in human experience. Focusing on the sequence of three major astrological alignments or “world transits” between 2020 and 2025, Keiron Le Grice will seek to illuminate the archetypal themes and dynamics shaping the recent past and current historical moment. Specifically, the talk will consider geometric alignments of Saturn with Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune in relation to the dominant events and challenges of this period, including the Covid crisis, political and cultural polarization, and the traumatic conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. Attuning to the archetypal dimension of history through astrology can help us find perspective and to better recognize the deeper meanings and powers living through us.

Keiron Le Grice is a professor of depth psychology in the Jungian and Archetypal Studies specialization at Pacifica Graduate Institute, California, and the author of several books, including The Archetypal Cosmos, The Rebirth of the Hero, and the forthcoming multivolume The Way of the Archetypes. He is also co-editor of Jung on Astrology, a compilation of Jung’s writings on this topic, and co-founder and former editor of Archai: The Journal of Archetypal Cosmology, now serving as editorial advisor.
